A Haiku is Fine TooThey say that a good poet places lines
And syllables and rhymes and stops and sounds
With all the care of geometrician's minds
When on the board they ponder nature's bounds.
They say there are as many types of poem
As there are types of poets holding pens,
That every author has his certain tone
To mark them out amidst the rest of them.
But, like in every art, there must be form,
A framework to construct the thoughts between
Oh, freeform might be fine for them 'as scorn
But freeform's only chaos with a swing.
For me it's the sonnet form, with a tweak or two.
I just wish I could write bloody haikus.
