Sonnets are Sexy

So about two months ago I was in a class, substituting, as is my wont. And prom was coming up, and everyone in class is chattering about how they were going to ask their dates.
Feeling the need to pretend to be a literate person I chime in with "Write the girl a Shakespearean sonnet!"
And I was told, "How do you do that then?"
At which point I thought, "What are teachers teaching in class these days? For shame."
Then I remembered, "Oh yes, I'm supposed to be the teacher."
And so I told everyone to stop chatting and go back to their schoolwork. But the result was this poem, and it's sister A Haiku is Fine Too.
