A new take on my favorite pony for the magnificent customs artist . Swing by her page and give her love and support.
Well, this walnut Derpy took me a lot longer to finish than I anticipated, running in at about 12 hours-ish. And I wanted to make the stand more complex. The sketches I drew up have the cloud raised on a pole of glass or clear plastic with some lightning coming out of the bottom, but frankly I ran out of time. Also I couldn't find a good pole to suspend the cloud. I messed around with some wood and metal poles but decided to just scrap the idea. It'll happen some other time, I'm sure.
I've got to give a shout out to on this one. I'd been following the progress of his royal guard pegasus for a while, and the wonderful final product convinced me to try out some fixed wing designs for this pony. I like having ponies with flappable wings, because I like to think of these as toys rather than sculptures, but I admit that designing and detailing these wings was a lot of fun. (Inserted 'em at the wrong angle though )
She's also the first real pony with painted eyes. (SpeedDerpy hardly counts. She was a test run for this Derpy's designs.) Still not really happy, and I am ever more convinced that my other models will remain eyeless, but they could be worse. Now, although I'd love to hang around and chat, I've got to go transcribe two and a half-ish hours of recorded interview for a research project. All nighter here I come... (And not even my research project. )

2) I need to send you a note, but I'm all sawdusty and honestly shouldn't be using a keyboard at all right now.
