Zecora Minifigure in Zebrawood

This is why I can't have things good,
I went and ruined the color of my zebrawood.
I thought "I'll finish this in oil"
But her lovely coat the finish did spoil.
Her stripes so bold in contrast to-
The lighter stripes were lost from view.
And when I took her out for pics
Dust like glue to the oil did stick.
I suppose I learned a lesson:
"If something's fine, then don't go messin."

So yeah; I'm pretty miffed at the way trying to finish this piece really hurt the overall look. Zebrawood, of course, has lovely dark stripe offset against light tan ones, in very zebra-y colors. I've been having such fun finishing these teethers, though, that I thought I would give it a go. And obviously it darkened and reddened the lighter stripes disproportionately, which makes her lovely stripes hard to see.
Anyway she was done while I was waiting on some purpleheart to laminate for tonight/tomorrow's Twilight Sparkle, and I've been itching to do something in zebrawood of late. I've had a big blank lying around since last spring, and done nothing with it, which is a shame, but I didn't want to make it a big personal project, so I thought I would do another little mini. And she is quite mini, at less than 1.5 inches from hoof to mane and tail to forehoof. (About 1/3 the scale of most of my ponies.) And I've got to say, after the fun here I might do another and kick the profits out to Ummu Salama as a charity. What do y'all think would that be a worth it thing?
Well, we'll see; I seem to be pretty busy, but she only took a couple of hours and not much wood, so it couldn't hurt.
