Zecora was so very fun! I'd like to make another one. I'd carve a second, if I could; alas I'm out of Zebrawood. Her zebra's mane was easier than the normal ponies tangle; on top of that I got to make her awesome tribal bangles. And now, because my mind has failed, my rhyming speech I will curtail.
So yeah, it turns out I'm not any good at jewelery or, you know, if you can call wireworking and soldering jewelry, but I had a lot of fun anyway. Zecora was a lot of fun, and is definitely my favorite pony so far. She was a blast to design, with a long neck and just her general skinnyness-skinny legs, skinny torso skinny neck, and her giant zebra ears. The zebrawood scraps I had took a long time to laminate into a workable piece, but I'm super happy with how it looks on her. All in all, a definite win in my book. I'm still learning, though, so hopefully I can get a lot better. You can find more pictures of Zecora on my shutterfly here [link] as well as some process shots of the work [link] . Zecora and My Little Pony belong to Hasbro
In the first photo, the view from that side, the designs in the wood make her look kinda creepy in a way, it looks like an eye and a jaw with spiky teeth that goes all the way up. I actually really like it. One side looks nice and peaceful and calm, the other side almost evil. xD Kinda like how they thought she was in the show before they met her.
