Hi all!
Well, it's been on the schedule for a while, but I think it's about time to start up this years Christmas Giveaway! There are going to be quite a few pieces going out, but first, the entry rules:
To enter, simply leave a comment of any length or content on this journal. The deadline is going to be this Monday, December 10 at 11:59pm US Central Time.
Contest Closed! Congrats to our winners!
That's it, no strings attached. All items will ship free in the US and Canada. Most items will ship free anywhere in the world. Due to weight, however, I'll need help mailing the Applebucking Applejack Whirligig and the Ice Skating Ponies Candle Spinner outside of the US or Canada if necessary, and the whirligig will not come with the support stand. The contest rules are the same as for all my giveaways; after the deadline I'll number the names and draw all the winners at once. After that I'll message all of the winners about mailing addresses and prize preference. If you are the only one who wants a particular prize it's yours; if more than one person wants it then I'll do another round of number-picking or coin-flipping, and ask the losers about second choices.
Now, on to the prizes! Aside from new pieces specifically made for this giveaway I'm trying to clear my mantle, and there are a few ponies which, for lack of address/response/artist's account being deleted, etc. never made it in the mail and are over six months old. I also have a bunch of wands with memories attached, so those are all going up for adoption. Here's the list.
Ponies
Mistletoe Kisses-I really liked her design from last year, so this week she got a fixed mane makeover.
Ice Skating Ponies Candle Spinner
Rearing Spitfire
Stormcloud Derpy
Vinyl Scratch Woodwork III
Applebucking Applejack Whirligig
Wands
Hollow Crown Wand
Snowflake Swirl Wand
Branch and Blossom Wand
Alpha and Omega Wand
Wood of Life Wand
And finally...
The Elements: Zebrawood Fingerbox
For a total of 12 prizes, if all goes to plan! Alright; I've got to head back to the shop if I'm going to finish this week's projects.

Another year, another journal entry
And yet a surprising amount of actually posting stuff this year!
Admittedly not quite everything managed to make it onto here, but still, did a better job of getting stuff uploaded. That's nice. Maybe this year is the year I update journals again too!
Anyway, it's been an eventful year, with many life events and travels and lots of woodwork and show finales and collaborations and floods and injuries and all those things that make this life such a wonderfully interesting trip. But I made some friends along the way, and that's been the best thing of all.
Hmmm
You know, you would think that after spending the last two months camped out in the shop, making literally hundreds of pony ornaments, a dozen sculptures or pieces of wall art, trying out defined eyes for the first time, and learning a thing or two about using plastics, I would have at least one single thing to post here, but they seem to all have gone into the mail as quickly as they were made.
What can you do?
Anyway, perhaps I will post some side projects as I work through them.
Ah Didn' Learn Anything!
Hello, Good Friends!
So the other day I was thinking to myself, "Goodness, ever since that dog bite last year I've been remarkably free of injury. Time was when I always had some minor (or major) woodworking mishap, or hiking sprain, or pickup sports mishap, or some generally boneheaded accident that bruised or broke something. I wonder if I am finally becoming cautious with maturity."
Then I saw a cat at the bottom of a 10 foot deep vertical light well and climbed down to rescue it from certain death. In its sincere thankfulness, this cat bit me on the hand just as hard as it possibly could. Twice. Even though I took the precaution of bund
Still Sawdusty
Well how about that? Two months after that first post, wherein I predicted a short burst of uploads and then silence, and I'm still around. I've just been having too much fun out there in the shop to hang up the ol' hat again, so I guess you're stuck with me for a while. I can certainly tell that I won't be able to maintain that rate of production from December now that the program year at work has started again, but it'd be nice to get out a couple of pieces a month when I have a brief interlude in the madness.
Now I just have to replenish my woefully depleted stock of wood, so that I can do things other than these minis and silhouettes. A
